When we talk about Nepal, we immediately think of Mt Everest. But life and civilization are mainly concentrated in the Kathmandu Valley where temples, palace and monasteries abound. This trip combines a relaxing and easy trek with the cultural element. On little –frequented trails, it is fascine to go from one village to another, along a river or on a hillside, through terraced rice-fields and woody areas and enjoy magnificent panoramas of the countryside set against a backdrop of snow- covered peaks, every stage brings its own reward the breath-taking scenery of the Himalayan peaks in Nagarkot visited of the medieval city Bhaktpur the fascinating Namo Buddha monastery and Panauti pagoda.
Day 01: Kathmandu – Sundarijal- Chisapani After breakfast we drive about 1hr north of Kathmandu and start our trek. We walk up through the forest after crossing the big pound of water “this is the pond from where drinking water is supplied to Kathmandu Valley’ After we cross the jungle, we do stop for lunch and after lunch we walk for 2 hours then we arrive Chisapani Village and we stay overnight at the Tea House in Chisapani.
Day 02: Chisapani – Nagarkot After breakfast we start our trek crossing the small village, we walk through the hills with beautiful view of the valley on the northern side of the path. We take a long walk about 3 hours and stop for lunch. After lunch we walk up hill through the village and reach Nagarkot. Stay Over night at the tea house.
Day 03: Nagarkot- Dhulikhel After breakfast we start our trek about 1 hours walk up through the open jungle, we reach Nagarkot Tower from when we can see the good view of the surroundings. From Nagarkot tower we walk the other side of the jungle down to Nala village which is about 2 and half hour down trail walk. We have to walk about 2 hour to get to Dhulikhel; there is no foot trail hence we have to use the road. Stay over night at Dhulikhel in a Tea House.
Day 04: Dhulikhel- Namobouddha- Panauti and back to Kathmandu by car. After breakfast we start our trek, cross Dhulikhel and walk up the Hill where there is Temple of Goddess kali from there we can have a great view of the mountain as well as the different valley around us. Easy walk up Namobuddha. This is small Buddhist monastery where we stop for lunch and after an hour easy walk, we reach Panauti, a beautiful Newari Village which is very interesting to walk around the village. After a beautiful walk we take our car back to Kathmandu.
